As part of our Global Gourmet topic, we have been getting ready for our cafe event.
Monday: On Monday, the head chef from each group got to go to Tesco to get some ingredients for our cafe event which would be on Wednesday.
Each head chef had a list of ingredients to find, some of us carried baskets and others wheeled a trolley. The school paid on the credit card for all three classes, it came to £174.00. Expensive!!!
Shopping in the fruit and veg aisle. Where's the peas?
Bagging up ingredients with Mr Sheehan.
We got everything we needed, now we're on our way back to school.
Tuesday: On Tuesday we made origami serviette folding for the cafe event. Some of us were experts at it, including Kayden, Elise, Mia and Ciara. It was trickier than you expect it to be!
Wednesday: On Wednesday it was our cafe day, and we had a lot of work to do. First of all, we had to make the food to serve. The pizza group were amazing, they made about 6 sets of dough and 31 pizzas altogether. There were cheese and tomato ones, ham and mushroom and ham and pineapple. They smelt delicious when they were cooked - the whole school smelt of them.
Messy hands eurghhhhhhh!!!
Yummy pizzas!!!
Lots of pizzas - yippeee!!! Ready for the oven now.
Busy making dough - oooh, it was a bit wet and sticky!!
These pizzas are delicious - mwah!!! Magnifico!!!
A.M. made perfect pizzas with little crusts just like the ones at Pizza Hut!!! He was a perfectionist!!
This group were making the vegetable samosas by chopping up carrots and potatoes.
What does this thing do again?
The group below came in for part of their lunchtime with Miss Doyle to finish their spring rolls. They were brilliant, and worked together really well!!
In the kitchen, heating up the potatoes and carrots.
Lots of parents, friends and family came to have a three course meal at 2:30pm. We set up all the tables ready for them with tablecloths, serviettes, knifes and forks and water jugs. They looked really good! Mr Rothwell thought so too!!
For starters they could have either: spring rolls or vegetable samosas
For mains: Italian pizza or Mexican tacos
For desserts: Jamaican ginger cake or American style pancakes
There were 12 tables and each one had a waiter, the waiters had to take orders from other people's parents. Once the parents had finished eating, the waiters took their plates and handed them their bills. We raised £103.00 - wow! Lots of parents said we could keep the change - thank you!!!
Can I take your order?
Someone liked the vegetable samosas...
