Birmingham Airport

Hi this is class 4D,

Yesterday (5.06.13) prepare to be jealous  we went on a epic journey to Birmingham Airport!!!

When we got inside we went to 'Flight School',
in there we found a glass cage with diffrent things that people have tried to smuggle into different countries, for example, knives, drugs, screw drivers, guns, alcohol. A policeman and woman came to tell us all about security at the airport. We found out so many things, for example, anything with a sharp point (incuding pencils, knives also sissors) can be a weapon for stabbing. There are some plain clothed police people walking around the airport too.

Playing around with hats!!!

These are speedcuffs - they go on really fast, and they hurt.  If you wriggle too much, they could break your wrist!!!!

I'm a police woman!!!

 Me too!!!!

The policeman took off his vest for us to feel how heavy it is - 2 stone!!! HEAVY!!

Check out this video of when the police were with us!
Elise went into a different room to speak to the policeman through a walky-talky.

Some of the items were extremely heavy!
Some of the items were: Speed Cuffs, Radio Walky Talkys and a Chest Pad.

Next, we went downstairs to look at the departure boards and make some notes on the different flights leaving from Birmingham.

Later, we looked out of the window and saw some aeroplanes like Ryan Air, Flybe and Turkish Airlines.  We got to see them landing and taking off, it was really exciting to watch!

Can you see the aeroplane about to land in this photo???
What a nice view, yay aeroplanes!!!

Thank you for reading our blog,we hope you've enjoyed it and comment on it.
